12/20/2004 Archived Entry: "Dreadfully Dull"

With any luck, my new website design (or the beginnings of it) will be uploaded tonight. I need to fix the iframes on it. Yes, I'm using an iframe and not div layers, bite me. *raspberry!* I change the layouts so infrequently and even Mozilla can successfully view an iframe without difficulty. The W3 will probably send their henchmen after me for my incredibly messy use of div commands, but they're fortunate I'm making an effort to use mainly CSS.

Yesterday was an adventure, we went out in 11 degree weather (and dropping) to go and get our Christmas tree. My cheeks are still all windblown from the cold air and climbing up and down the hill carrying our tree. It's a really sweet little tree, though, and it's very healthy. It drank almost half it's container of water within the first two hours of being in the stand. It's a 6-1/2' tall Douglas fir and very full. Hopefully tonight we can decorate it, but this evening I -really- need to wash our laundry for the rest of the week. Yes, we went out to the Milan, IL "Jack Frost Pines" tree farm and cut our own tree. So we knew we got a healthy tree, they grow little trees all year round, so I don't feel bad about cutting one down. There were acres and acres of trees there and where one was cut down, right next to the old stump a new one was already growing. That doesn't sound like a bad way to make a living, everyone around here buys Christmas trees and they smell so wonderful.
