12/03/2004 Archived Entry: "Friday, thank goodness."
Thank goodness, Friday, at last! I have to call the doctor later today to make sure I know what time to go in for my ultrasound. You know, I didn't think I'd have to go in for one until I was pregnant. LoL! Now I'm going in on account of faulty organs. Bleh, getting older sucks.
I'm in a better mood, despite the bruises on my rear. I'm not as achy as I was the day before. Yesterday my back was popping every time I even shifted in my seat. I must've hit the ground harder than I thought. Good thing I'm short and losing weight! I'll lose even more weight now that I'm not allowed to eat fatty foods, it's all for the best. Man was not designed to be sustained on french fries. I can still eat pizza with no casualities, I found out. Peanut and vegetable oil doesn't hurt, either. Even a few potato chips in moderation are okay. This morning I had a bagel though, thank goodness I enjoy fruit, veggies, and grains as much as I enjoy junk food.
When I get home I'll probably start working on some drawings I need to get done for this month. The deadline for the iRO card illustration event is next Sunday, too! Yipes. I've only got two entries and I had planned on doing more, so I'll probably do the rest of those by hand and in colored pencil. I haven't done anything like that in a long while. It's going to be fun!
Today is easy and slow, which is fine by me. I can't take any more trauma for this week. Once I'm all healed, then maybe life can lob another flaming meteor at me, so I'd kind of appreciate it if it didn't until then.
In iRO News...
Niffelheim is here! But what's more fun than Niffelheim is all the fantastic new headgear! And the CHIMETI!! I.... want.... my.... chimeti! A chimeti is a chain-link whip for a Dancer. I've only ever seen -one- Dancer beside myself actually fight with the whip. So I've been taking my Hunter to Umbala dungeon and field looking for either a slotted Rante Whip or collecting tough vines from Dryads whilst searching for the Chimeti.
What the hell am I talking about?, you're probably asking. Every monster drops a certain set of items, mostly common drops used to make money and sell back to the NPC's. But with all these new updates, a lot of the things we'd normally sell for money we're using to make new headgear! Like every RPG, you gather items that specific monsters drop and return them to an NPC who will exchange them for an uncommon item, particularly gear of some persuasion. Ragnarok Online is just the same, so when the Niffelheim (that's the Halloweentown-type dungeon map) was turned on this Tuesday the opportunity to create a whole flood of new headgear and weapons poured in.
The monsters I'm actively hunting are Parasite and Dryad. A Parasite looks like a little child sitting on a leaf. She/He/It (it's a naked, sexless nymph-type creature) attaches itself to a stump of a rotting tree and uses it to live off of, just like a mushroom. The Dryad is a moving, ranged monster that looks like a nymph whose hands are bound behind her with vines and she uses the roots of the plant she is bound to to attack. Parasite will sometime drop a slotted Rante Whip, that means it's got a slot for a weapon card. Dryad drops the Holy Grail of whips, the Chimeti. It's got +15 more attack strength than the Rante. *drool* And plussing that (that means to have it forged with more strength) will make it even stronger! *stars in eyes*
I spent about three hours yesterday hunting soley Dryads. I've gotten so good at finding out where in Umbala dungeon that it spawns most frequently that I was able to obtain 85 "tough vines" all that time. That's quite a lot of monster killing, further pushing my Hunters level towards the 90's!! I'm collecting "tough vine" to make one of the newest headgears called "Straw Hat". I'll need it to turn it into "Sombrero". It's my present for John's Rogue.
