Happy Birthday, Becky
The older folk, they told me,"Enjoy youth while you can."
But you know how it is with kids, they don't truly understand.
Right now, we're in the middle, you and me.
Right now we're inbetween.
We can remember things like yesterday,
But we know now what they mean.
Happy birthday, Rebecca, my dear sister far away,
Happy birthday, all in memory of the joys of yesterday.
Happy birthday, have the courage still to smile,
We know that time heals all, love is never just a little while.
The younger folk, they told me,"Get her something good."
But you know how it is with kids, they never understood.

I could buy you the most expensive posessions,
But that wouldn't mean anything.
