10/04/2004 Archived Entry: "Feeling a Little Loopy..."

Feeling a little loopy this morning. I've been taking Zithromax for my sore throat. I went to the doctor on Saturday to get a prescription, so I've been taking my medication for two days now and I've got a few more for the rest of the week. At least I don't have fever or bodyaches anymore. Being sick sucks.

I didn't get a lot of stuff done this weekend that I had planned to because of it, but at least I got some things having to do with my health taken care of. Sunday, I went to order my new set of contact lenses with a new prescription and had to get my eyes dialated for a checkup. Let me tell you, that's the funkiest feeling ever. You're eyes are forced to take in all light so that they can look into your eyes and see for anything abnormal. The exam itself takes just a few minutes, but the stuff doesn't wear off for like three or four hours. I had to lie in the dim light of my bedroom until 5 o'clock (my appointment was at 2pm) before things stopped getting quite so fuzzy. By the time I got out of my shower at 5:30, I was well enough to start with dinner and the laundry. Being sick AND having your eyes go wonky is not a fun feeling, but it's all over with now and I'm on my way to recovery... I hope!

World of Warcraft is coming! I hope it's as good as I'm hoping it is because $50 (American) is an awful lot of money to pay for a game. I don't understand why that's standard pricing for new games, it's incredible! Why are games so expensive? Ragnarok Online doesn't cost you a dime save for the subscription service and that's a bargain at $32 for three months of play. I may wait for the first wave of people to come in and then read the reviews, I'm getting nervous about it as the day comes closer.

Maybe today after work I'll find the energy to start up my new cyberpet for Gaia Online. I've got some things on it yet to finish, but that's kind of progressive stuff now as the main images are complete. All that's left now are the attributes and the equippable pet gear. There won't be an inventory screen like some pets have as that just takes up too much room. I'm also contemplating something really fun for my new shop, I'll have to experiment first to see how worthwhile it will be.

In Ragnarok Online News...
By Wednesday the Marriage System, the Super Novice class, and KunLun will be implemented. I think KunLun is coming, too. It's so hard to remember the order of the new installments, but with the new installments is most likely coming a new list of bugs to report. It's just as well, as Sakray is after all the test server. But there will most likely be swarms of people from Chaos and Loki, as usual, coming to see it all. Lots of people have already been building Super Novice novices, it's going to be extremely strange to see Super Novices as a recognised class when just last year it was generally looked down upon. Well, this time those sneers and snide remarks are going to get a slap in the face when they realise just how many SKILLS! a Super Novice gets and the 20 extra job points! I've personally decided not to make one and use my last slots for my rebuilt "Sirocco" knight and my new alchemist. I'm content to wait for the Rebirth System and see what I can do with that. If then I decide to make one of my characters a Super Novice, then I will.

It's going to be extremely entertaining to see people building battle, support, merchant, and combo Super Novices! I hope we can get one into my guild! I'll leech a Super Novice just to see one work! I love helping the people who make not-so-conventional characters reach their goal of proving it can work.
